Almost exactly across the road from the Smithy Hill pub stands this heavily braced old barn
at the point Brighouse Road and Halifax Road meet. It was a most sensible thing to do stopping this part of the road being a two-way track. As it is the traffic from Keighley heading
for Queensbury and Brighouse tears into this road at breakneck speeds.
