Little Horton Hall was the residence of one of the local gentry families,
a scion of the Sharp family. Horton Old Hall [demolished] from which this
beautiful building derives its pedigree stood on the site of St. Luke's
hospital car park and was the first to go. Horton Hall had a central hall
with a gallery at the back linking the two wings with service rooms at
the back. At the time Bradford was trying to "modernise" by
demolishing anything old and therefore of no value replacing scores of
the city's Victorian heritage buildings with concrete ~ all now demolished
in their turn.
