On this site stood an earlier public house from
which the village had its name. The facade is very plain and almost without
windows to the first floor. That's very odd. There are matching quoins on each
corner but, even more curiously the right hand end has a corbel under the verge,
while the left hand roof is hipped. The next picture may help, but anyone who
