Hampton Court in Nelson Street was begun sometime before 1350 as a wealthy merchant's house. It was
close to both the riverside quays and the massive Hanse warehouse just round the corner you can see in
St. Margaret's Lane. There are traces of the shops that once fronted the building inside the present flats.
