| Here we are round
the corner from Hampton Court where the huge Hanse warehouse runs down to the River Great Ouse. It was built about 1475 and used until 1751. The Hanseatic League was a loose alliance of trading city states around the Baltic and the Zuiderzee in the Middle Ages and became very powerful. On the front end of the warehouse is the handsome 18th century St. Margaret's House facing the church. For more on the Hanse go to: http://members.bellatlantic.net/~baronfum/hansa.html | |||
