![]() | The Guildhall of St. George, the largest and earliest hall of any merchant guild to survive in England, lies close to the end of King Street. Built about 1410 it has had more changes of use than almost any building too! It's been a warehouse, theatre, court house, armoury during the Civil Wars, bought by a local magnate restored by public subscription, and handed to the National Trust for use as an arts centre. It is now the focal point of the Kings Lynn Festival supported by the District Council. |
