Once the house of a Tudor grandee in a city with strong connections to the House of Tudor. As with so many timber framed buildings in the city it stands a full 500 years after it was built.

It was this family that ended the civil war we call the Wars of the Roses defeating Richard III at the battle of Boswell Field in 1485. Henry Tudor became Henry VII and married Elizabeth of York making a new family crest by joining the Lancastrian red rose with the Yorkist white rose.
