We came to Arnhem to see some of the battlefield sites from the
1944 Operation Market Garden - immortalised in the historically
inaccurate film "A Bridge Too Far". But we are not here to carp, just
to see for ourselves. This is not the actual bridge that John Frost
and his men held for so long against hopeless odds, but a modern
replacement. However, it still has the power to stimulate imagination.
