Almost hidden away on a street off the Bakenessergracht this tall narrow door gives access to one of the small hofjes the city has in numbers.

The oldest hofje in Haarlem and of the Netherlands is de Bakenesserkamer, endowed in 1395 by Dirc van Bakenes.
