Views of buildings from the back can be quite revealing. The flat elevation of the rear of the Hoofdtoren indicates it has been renovated - its style is very different from its businesslike front. Perhaps the rear was always flat to marry in with the old town walls, but the pinnacle with a carillon by the Hemony brothers hints strongly at our friend Hendrick de Keyser.
